On a beautiful Brazilian day, the 12th of August, my mom and dad were married. Nine months and a day later, on May 13th, I was born. Yes, I was a surprise baby and ever since that day I have never fallen short of surprising.My mom always told me the story about the first time I breastfed. When the nurse came in to teach my mother the ritual, my mom said "teach what? I fed her already!" The nurse was surprised and said that I had a hunger for life. And I'm sure that it was then and there that my destiny was traced. I do have a hunger for life, and my life alone isn't enough. I need to live other lives; experience different emotions; live in past times; in the future... All of these possibilities fascinate me.When I was 20 months old, my dad (who is American) was relocated back to the United States. As a family, we packed and moved to New Jersey. Since I didn't have many friends to play with, my favorite pastime was putting on shows. I never had the patience to play with dolls, but I used to love dancing, tapping, singing and pretending to be Shirley Temple. My family was obliged to watch and give me standing ovations. But it wasn't until I was 5 that I realized that acting could be a profession. My parents, baby sister and I were walking down the streets of NY when a man approached us and asked me if I wanted to be in a movie. On that memorable day, I spent two hours under the sweltering summer sun to shoot a scene that lasted about 10 seconds. But that was a crucial day in my life. Now my favorite pastime had a name, and I decided then that I wanted to do this for the rest of my life: I wanted to be an actress.Since that day, I have never stopped pursuing my dream. During the following years, I went to school on weekdays and dedicated every weekend to the performing arts. During my summer vacations I would go to theater camps, where I found out that I had an excellent comedic timing and that I could sing.Finishing high school I knew where I wanted to be: NY, where anything and everything happens. But I was only 18 and my parents thought that I should first conquer a smaller city. I went to Savannah, Georgia. But after only a year I decided that I wanted to focus on my craft and dedicate myself fully to acting. I spent a summer in Connecticut studying at the Yale Conservatory for the Actors. After that I finally arrived in NYC and started my two year conservatory at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts.I loved my experience at AADA. I learned a lot, met amazing and talented people and developed my acting skills. On April 9th 2010, I graduated and for the first time was able to officially tell the world, "I AM AN ACTRESS." Im ready to conquer the world and excited about displaying my skills. I want to act, sing and dance. Im ready to move my audience and make them laugh and think, as I have been doing since the beginning, when I was able to reach my very special audience my family.
